NBS. Specialist & Rare Variety Show 2010

The NBS Specialist & Rare Show was held at Bowburn Community Centre,Bowburn,Co.Durham on Sunday 11th July 2010.

This show is always against the clock as we can not get into the show hall the night before so the staging has to be erected on the morning of the show as well as receiving birds from the exhibitors.

Luckily the usual band of helpers managed to meet the dead line.

The centre is being refurbished at present so things were a little hectic. It must be said that with the new windows already in situ judging was able to be done under perfect conditions.

The kitchen is closed at present so Ed Freel and Gaile had to go to our meeting room and set up camp there. They did a cracking job. Ann Cairns came for not the first time to prepare the judges meals, many thanks to her.

Jim Smith our Patronage Secretary came after finishing work at 5am that morning.

There were no 'cock ups' so Brian Batey our Show Secretary was very happy.

A mention for Roy Cooke our Secretary who had been hospital with pneumonia only two weeks ago, that's dedication!
